Morgan Wallen's second appearance as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live (SNL) took an unexpected turn when the singer abruptly exited from the stage as the credits rolled.
During the March 29 episode of SNL, Morgan Wallen performed two songs from his upcoming album I'm the Problem. Unlike SNL tradition, where the cast and guests remain on the stage when the credits roll, Morgan walked off after whispering something to show host Mikey Madison, reports suggest.
Moments after the exit, he posted an Instagram Story featuring his private jet with the caption:
"Get me to God’s country."
This is not the first time Morgan Wallen has made headlines in connection with SNL. In 2020, he was initially booked as a musical guest but was disinvited after videos surfaced of him mocking COVID-19 protocols.
He was later given a chance to perform on the show in December that year. Now, in 2025, his unexpected exit from SNL has generated conversation across social media platforms.
Pop Crave took to its official X page to share:
"Morgan Wallen’s abrupt SNL exit was an “oops” moment and not meant as a diss toward the cast, Variety reports: "That was the way he entered and exited the studio all week during rehearsal and camera blocking, so he wasn’t thinking about being on-camera when he strolled off stage.""
Netizens react to Morgan Wallen's abrupt exit from 'SNL'
Netizens were quick to weigh in on the comment section of Pop Crave's X post as they penned their reactions over the incident centering Morgan. Below are what some of them said:
"Somebody need that media training," declared an X user.
"sure he was mortified when he realized what had happened, but it's good that he can laugh it off and move on. It's just one of those awkward moments that happens sometimes, and it's not worth making a big deal out of it," opined another.
"Morgan Wallen's just living his truth, not bowing to woke cancel culture. SNL's lucky to have him, and real fans see through the media spin. Country music stays strong with patriots like him," stated an X user.
"Last time he was on he knew to stick around. Does he need to see a doctor? Or was he upset because his sketch got cut for time?" asked a user.
Others chimed in:
"The farewell segment is a long-standing tradition, and seasoned performers know it’s part of the gig. Whether intentional or not, his quick exit felt dismissive, and fans were left scratching their heads," commented a netizen.
"Unpopular opinion: I believe this. Not everyone knows the SNL camera continues to roll after you say "goodnight" unless you watch the show. And even then, easy to forget in the moment. We will continue to poke fun at this cause it's funny. But it ain't that serious y'all," penned another user.
During the closing moments of the show, Morgan Wallen stood beside host Mikey Madison but did not chat much before exiting.
