More about Justin Bieber's stalker, as a police officer reveals disturbing new details
The scary new details regarding the dangerous plan to kidnap Justin Bieber were revealed by Sergeant Edgar Pinon, who works at the New Mexico Department of Corrections. Officer Pinon appeared on the episode "Stalking the Stars," a show that captures the lengths certain fans go to in order to show their love for their favorite celebrities. The episode is part of the "Hollywood Demons" docuseries, produced by Investigation Discovery.
In one portion of the episode, Edgar Pinon reveals how he got to know the details of the plot to murder the singer. He says that one day, out of the blue, the person responsible for it, Dana Martin, wanted to talk to Pinon personally and began revealing the secrets of his plan.
"One morning, he wanted to talk to me personally, in private. Right away, he started talking about his tattoo of Justin Bieber."
He further added that Dana Martin had informed him that since his attempts to contact Justin Bieber were futile, it prompted him to hatch a plan to connect with the Grammy-nominated singer directly.
"He went on and on about how he's been trying to make contact with Justin. That's when he started telling us a story. He had arranged for two individuals to travel to the East Coast, and he gave them a hit list."
The plan was hatched in 2012, when Justin Bieber was at the peak of his early career fame, by Dana Martin, who was already serving two life sentences for the r*pe and murder of high school student DeAndra Florucci in 2000, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Dana Martin's obsession with Justin Bieber led him to get a tattoo of the "STAY" singer on his leg. In the episode, Edgar Pinon reveals more about the plot, saying that Martin collaborated with Mark Staake, a former inmate who was out on probation, and his nephew, Tanner Ruane. The plan was to drive to New York and carry out the act, according to CNN.
Pinnon said that the duo allegedly ended up taking the wrong route and found themselves on the other side of the border in Canada.
"Their vehicle was searched, and they were able to find shears and neckties. Those were the tools necessary to commit the crimes,"
Mark Staake was sentenced to eighteen years in prison, nine years for one count of conspiracy to commit murder and another nine years for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. On the other hand, Tanner Ruane, who was initially released on bail, was sentenced to five years but was released after serving one and a half years and placed on probation, according to CBS4local News.
Edgar Pinon further added his personal opinion on what he thinks Dana Martin actually wanted to do to Justin Bieber. He says,
"In my opinion, I don't think Dana actually wanted to murder Justin Bieber. Because if he does, he can't get no more music from him, no more news of what's going on with him. My impression is Dana wanted Justin Bieber to know who he was, he wanted him to say, 'Hey, I am here, I am a huge fan.'"
Apart from Justin Bieber, the episode also covers stories about stalkers of other pop stars like Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, and will be available to stream on Monday, 28 April, on Max.
