Rapper 50 Cent is looking to cash in on a bet he made that A$AP Rocky would be walking free after being pronounced not guilty in his assault trial. The 21 Questions star’s Instagram post, which upheld his belief in A$AP Rocky’s innocence, asked if anyone wanted to take up a bet of $500,000. Legal journalist Meghann Cuniff responded that she would indeed take the bet. A$AP Rocky was acquitted on February 18, and 50 Cent is asking Cuniff to pay up.

In a post on Instagram, 50 Cent posted screenshots of Cuniff’s comment saying she’ll bet against him and captioned it,

“@meghanncuniff I’m a need my money by Monday. 👀”

The hip-hop artist A$AP Rocky was accused by another A$AP member, A$AP Relli, of shooting a firearm at him during an altercation in Hollywood in 2021. A$AP Rocky was arrested in 2022, but he was bailed out. The L$D artist was accused of two charges of ‘assault with a semiautomatic firearm,’ according to a report by The New York Times. With the hearings of the high-stakes case just concluded, A$AP Rocky was pronounced ‘not guilty.’

The proceedings were being covered by Meghann Cuniff, who provided timely updates regarding the happenings within the courthouse to her followers via social media.

Cuniff is famous for posting legal updates in high-profile cases to her social media, enabling the lay audience to follow and decode in-court proceedings. However, as it turns out, 50 Cent beat her legal instincts this time as he called A$AP Rocky’s innocence in advance of the verdict.

Netizens have hilarious reactions to the 50 Cent’s demand for his payment. Since 50 Cent posted a reminder for Cuniff to Instagram and stipulated a timeline for the payment, fans have been asking Cuniff to literally “pay up.”

Tory Lanez’s Comments on the 50 Cent-Meghann Cuniff bet

Meghann Cuniff, who shot to fame through her coverage of the legal proceedings of the Tory Lanez case, was targeted by the Canadian rapper as he supported 50 Cent’s claim of $500,000. Lanez was accused of shooting at rapper Megan thee Stallion in 2020, was found guilty of the act, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to NBC News.

Lanez, who is currently appealing the verdict, commented on 50 Cent’s post, saying,

“Goof b—h”

50 Cent highlighted Lanez’s comment and suggested that he expects Cuniff to pay up.

50 Cent and Lanez seem to agree this time. In 2023, 50 Cent publicly apologized to Megan Thee Stallion in a BigBoyTV interview for not believing her assertions that Lanez had indeed shot at her. 50 Cent was also at the forefront of posting memes on social media that discredited Megan’s claims at the time.

50 Cent said that he ended up believing Megan was telling the truth when he heard the recording of Lanez apologizing for his behavior,

“I’m gonna apologize to Megan the Stallion…when I heard the phone conversation, that made me feel like oh now I know what happened”

For now, Lanez and 50 Cent seem to be on the same side against Cuniff. How Cuniff responds to 50 Cent’s reminders remains to be seen.
