In a confusing social media interaction, PARTYNEXTDOOR dissed Tory Lanez and then apologized to the rapper.
On Wednesday, February 26th, PARTYNEXTDOOR teased a diss track on his Instagram Live. In the preview of the song, the Toronto-based artist can be heard taking shots at Tory. The snippet even name-drops Tory, who is also from Toronto.
Fuck what Tory Lanez say ... I did everything he did he's just a running man... drama man... I'm the daddy let me slap you okay. You said I sound like Young Thug ... You sound like me / One day, you'll be me."
This came as a shock, as the two artists previously worked together on the song More Than Friends in 2018.
However, shortly after this livestream, PND took to Instagram and apologized to the currently incarcerated singer.
In the story he wrote,
I was told about what you said without hearing your video for myself. You didn't say anything that I wouldn't say myself, now that I seen it I was wrong. City is stronger together."
Tory Lanez's Reaction
Tory, on the other hand, responded with a lighthearted but possibly passive-aggressive remark. Taking to his own Instagram story, he wrote:
"Lol... Why wake me up?."
The tone suggests that while he isn't taking the situation too seriously, he may be willing to escalate things if PND continues to publicly poke fun at him.

For now, however, Tory remains focused on his music. Despite being incarcerated, he has been seen recording new material. When asked about his inspiration for his upcoming music, he mentioned that PARTYNEXTDOOR is one of the artists who motivates him. During a prison call, he stated:
"PARTYNEXTDOOR showed his best work of 2025, Drake showed his best work of 2025, The Weeknd showed his best work of 2025, now it's time for me to come out."
