After more than a glorious decade, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, known professionally as Lady Gaga, is charting with her iconic and slightly controversial song Judas. The song, named after Judas Iscariot, first made it back to the chart earlier this week after the singer's groundbreaking performance at Coachella weekend 1. Gaga is one of the headliners of the arts and music festival.

The song hit its peak till now climbing to the #110 spot on global Spotify with 1.45M streams. Its debut was at #180 with 1.23 million streams at the beginning of this week.

The song was first released on April 2011, and was the second song on Gaga's highly acclaimed album Born This Way. It's a symphonic blend of technopop, EDM beats and a dramatic biblical reference.

Portrayed to be a romance song, the music video featured the singer in full-on grunge with dark eyeliner, a bandana and Judas on a motorcycle. As with most of the Bad Blood singer's music, the song was way ahead of its time. It was drenched in symbolism and was thought-provoking. Mix in the heavy biblical imagery and the fact that the singer dropped the song during Holy Week in 2011, you get quite a controversy.

Fans react to Lady Gaga's Feat

Lady Gaga's fans celebrate this milestone for her on social media. The controversial song, though a fan favourite, has raised quite a stir since it was first released. The song didn't quite hit the charts during it's initial rise but due to Gaga's cult following and engaging and energetic set, it is finally gaining the traction it deserves. Her fans, called little monsters, hilariously note the timing of the song rising the charts as well as comment on its mastery.

"Judas is an absolute masterpiece! so glad to see it getting the recognition it deserves,"- one fan stated.

Another joked,- "This happening 3 days before Easter is insane."

And another joined the bandwagon,- "LET’S CELEBRATE HOLY FRIDAY BY STREAMING IT."
