BTS' Taehyung recently made headlines when his solo album Layover became the first album by a K-pop soloist to have all of its tracks surpass 1 million streams on Spotify Japan. In addition to this, Taehyung’s track Love Me Again now is now officially the most-streamed Korean song by a K-pop soloist in Spotify Japan’s history.

Fans of BTS' Taehyung were glad to see the singer reach yet another milestone. As a result, his followers flooded the internet with their praises for V and his album. To express their admiration, one fan on X wrote:

Many other fans responded to Kim Taehyung’s latest achievement. While some said Japan is a “TeTe land,” others congratulated the BTS idol. Another fan referred to V’s album as a ‘masterpiece.’ Others were proud of Taehyung and his works.

Some pointed out BTS' Taehyung's success as independent from that of the band, while others claimed that Layover is his most successful album.

“How do I tell you that this is a man who did this without having promotions in America or any interest from his company? Taehyung doesn't need HYBE to give him success, he creates his own success.,” wrote another fan.
“Congratulations taehyung Love me again is perfection!,” stated a fan.
“Layover will always remain the most successful solo debut album,” stated an admirer.
“Congratulations to Kim Taehyung and his debut album "Layover", one of the best selected albums of recent years, with an exceptional harmonic mix and distinct instrumental and vocal sounds.,” commented a fan.

BTS' Taehyung’s Layover dropped in September 2023

Kim Taehyung, aka V, released his debut solo album Layover on September 8, 2023, and was presented by BIGHIT Music. It featured six tracks. Here’s a tracklist of Layover:

  • Slow Dancing (Piano Version)

Almost a year after this release, BTS’ Taehyung also dropped Layover vinyls on September 20, 2024.

With the launch of his debut solo album, V became the first soloist in Hanteo history to sell over 2 million copies of an album. BTS' Taehyung reportedly also became the first Korean soloist in history to simultaneously debut 2 songs in the top 10 of the Billboard Global Excl. US Chart simultaneously. Layover went on to win the ‘Favorite Debut Album’ Award at the 2024 iHeart Music Awards.

Currently, Kim Taehyung is completing his mandatory Korean military term following his enlistment in December 2023. He is expected to be discharged in June 2025.

Besides V, other members Jungkook, SUGA, Namjoon, and Jimin are also serving their respective terms. They are likely to reunite in June this year.
