Jack Harlow and Doja Cat drop the teaser for their new collaborative song Just Us.
Jack Harlow and Doja Cat have seemingly collaborated on their first official track together, Just Us, while teasing fans with stills in a kitchen together. The Kentucky-born rapper and singer dropped a teaser for the song on his Instagram, showcasing him and Doja Cat in a diner-style kitchen.
The song seems to have a flirty vibe as the singer can be seen serenading the Say So singer with a rap verse while both of them sway together to the beats in the background. The rapper's verse goes something like this:
"Something that isn't quite but slightly/Resembles wifey, I'ma need this nightly/You say you know all about Pisces/I disagree but call it out nicely/I'm all on you, faling out my seat."
The First Class singer first dropped hints on March 14 when he dropped another snippet on his Tiktok. In the clip, he was sitting on a couch lipsyncing a different verse from the song:
"I wish it was just us in this b*tch / but they can’t trust us in this b*tch / ‘Cause I’m trying to bust nuts in this, uh."
Other lyrics include:
"Let’s keep it on the hush hush in this b*tch / I told her she’s so pretty, and she just blushed in this b*tch / She clutch clutchin’ my huh / I’m adjusting my huh."
Since there was no hint or reference to Doja in the initial clip, fans didn't start speculating about her involvement until March 18, when the duo was spotted hanging out in Los Angeles.
The song seamlessly blends their signature styles into a smooth, hip-hop-infused duet, as apparent from the snippet. It pairs laid-back beats with the duo's undeniable chemistry with each other. The MV also seems to have a dinner party vibe to it, making the pair seem like the only two people in the room.
Harlow has been trying to make this collab happen for years, as the singer admitted to having a crush on Doja Cat back in 2020 after doing a live stream together. In the stream, he jokes:
"I need to talk to you for a second though. People thought we were dating because your man apparently looks like me."
To which the Kiss Me More singer responded by saying, "he’s great." After she left the Live video, Harlow confessed saying:
"I’ve had a crush on her for months."
It has been quite a busy year for Jack up till now, as he released his first single of the year, Set You Free. This is not the first collab for Doja Cat this year, as the singer also teamed up with Raye and Blackpink’s Lisa for Born Again.
