In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco opened up about their collaboration on the upcoming album I Said I Love You First. This album is more special and interesting because it is Selena's first album in five years, as she was on a hiatus from her music career.

One might wonder why Gomez was not creating music for the last five years. Well, the primary reason according to certain reports is that she was exhausted from having to deal with acting as well as singing at the same time. She wanted to focus specifically on acting as she thought she hadn't done enough when it comes to films and television. Another important reason for her taking a break from music was to prioritize her mental health.

Selena Gomez has dated a bunch of people and has been publicly linked to some, including Nick Jonas, Justin Bieber, and Charlie Puth. However, not many people are aware of who Benny Blanco is. As per reports, Gomez first came across Blanco, a songwriter, record producer, and author, in 2015 when they worked on a few songs for her album Revival.

In December 2023, things started to take a different turn for both. On December 7, 2023, Selena shared pictures of them on her Instagram story, going public and confirming their relationship. On December 11, 2024, Gomez and Blanco took to Instagram to announce their engagement.

During the Rolling Stone interview, Selena and Benny were quite appreciative of each other and talked about how they are meant for one another. Blanco revealed how he would, after waking up every morning, provide her with a pencil to encourage and push her to write songs, and then they would compose and record it in the other room. The 37-year-old Benny called this a "cathartic and therapeutic experience."

The 32-year-old Gomez was also quite expressive about how she felt for Blanco all this time and also praised his musical sense. She also discussed how Blanco, while working on the album, helped her figure out her sound. Selena further added:

"And we had been together for a while, and obviously I would confide in him. I couldn’t figure out my sound. It helps that he knows a little bit about music, and it kind of happened organically to where I felt like this process was unlike any other process I’d ever been through."

Selena and Blanco's 'first official photo' takes the internet by storm

Right before the release of their first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, which is scheduled to be released on March 21, 2025, Gomez posted the first official photo of her and Blanco on her official Instagram handle. The post garnered immense support and love from across the globe. Check out the post below:
