The Marias performed their famed 2025 track, Ojos Tristes, produced by Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez, this weekend at Coachella.
The band took to the stage at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Friday night, with the lead singer, María Zardoya, showing off her vocal prowess throughout the night. They performed Ojos Tristes towards the end of their 16-track setlist, and fans have since begun lamenting online that they wish Blanco's beau, Selena Gomez, was there to sing with them.
Here's how one fan reacted, for instance:
"Imagine if Selena was there too."
The comments didn't end there:
"SELENA WHERE ARE YOUUUU," one user exclaimed.
"Blessed my ears," another chimed in.
"Not gonna lie, i am really disappointed that Selena did not at least show up. In fact I am disappointed in her whole attitude towards this album!" someone else stated.
Even more chimed in to call out Selena Gomez for failing to show up:
"Obv Selena Gomez is not there cs she never sing her songs anyway. It’s the studio manufactured voice they have in songs and the human version can’t do that," one crtic claimed.
"Dang I wish we saw Selena there," one user shared.
"I’m not even exaggerating ojos tristes by selena gomez and the marias really is the best song of the year," another noted.
Scores online were visibly disappointed to notice Selena Gomez absent, though a large number of them did laud the lead singer for her ability to carry the track on her own.
Everything we know about The Marias' upcoming tour:
The Marias performed at Coachella this April 11, and just a day prior, they revealed the dates for their upcoming Submarine Tour (Extended). They released the album of the same name last May, which was their biggest yet. It reflected on lead singer María Zardoya's breakup with her bandmate Josh Conway.
While the two are no longer dating, they continue to collaborate within the capacity of their band. Last year, they started on the first leg of the Submarine tour. The second leg kicks off this July in McAllen, TX, followed by which, they will traverse across Austin, TX; Tucson, AZ; Santa Barbara, CA; Berkeley, CA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; and Morrison, CO.
Come August, the band will deliver performances in Minneapolis, MN, alongside Hinterland, Lollapalooza, and the Shaky Knees Festival. The tour will then continue through Nashville, TN and Raleigh, NC, and their last stop of the tour will be in Charlotte, NC.
