Former Guns N' Roses drummer Frank Ferrer is reflecting on his momentous exit from the band after nearly two decades.
The band referred to his leaving as an “amicable exit” last week, revealing that they have since replaced Ferrer with former AWOLNATION timekeeper Isaac Carpenter. The veteran drummer has since taken to Instagram to pen a statement asserting that he will always love the band, though he is disappointed that his time with them is coming to an end:
“The outpouring of love I have felt from the incredible fans of Guns N’ Roses and my peers over the past 24 hours has been tremendous,” he wrote. “I will have immense gratitude and love always for Axl and the band while at the same time, disappointed that this chapter came to an end."
He went on:
"It has been an incredible 19 years. Guns N' Roses has given me life-changing memories and experiences. A huge thanks to management, the crew, and fans for giving me memories that I will cherish for my lifetime. I hope I see you all again soon!"

Frank Ferrer's departure was announced last week as the band took to social media to thank him for
“his friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and they wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”
Frank Ferrer joined the band in 2006, becoming one of its longest-serving members at 19 years. At the time, Bryan "Brain" Mantia parted ways with the band to spend more time with his wife and newborn child. Speaking with My Global Mind in an interview earlier this year, the drummer said:
"It was initially only going to be a temporary thing. It was only going to be for two weeks. But in my heart, I felt like, if I could really do well on this, even if it’s just for two weeks, then it could open up a lot of doors. Brain had his brand new baby and he felt like he should stay home with his partner. Axl and the band were happy with what I was doing. Everybody was like, 'Frank’s got it under control, go hang out with your baby, and do your thing.' Brian was super gracious."
While Brian drummed for most of the band's 2008 album Chinese Democracy, Frank Ferrer also played on several tracks as well, and even performed live with the band until as recently as November 5th, 2023, during their show at the Heaven & Hell festival in Mexico.
45-year-old Carpenter will now be taking over. He is slated to perform for the band's upcoming international tour, which kicks off on May 1 in Incheon, South Korea. The band will then traverse Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
