Lana Del Rey’s upcoming album

Early last year, Lana Del Rey announced that she would be releasing her next album, Lasso, in September during the Billboard and NMPA Songwriter Awards in Los Angeles. According to Billboard, Del Rey announced at the time that the album would be her first foray into country music, saying,

“If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We’re going country. It’s happening. That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years.”

She was referring to her collaborator and songwriter, Jack Antonoff.

In November 2024, though, Del Rey unveiled a new title and a new release date for the album. The upcoming album’s title was changed to The right person will stay, as per an Instagram post in which Del Rey also revealed that the LP, which will have 13 tracks, will be released on May 21.

According to NME, Del Rey released the first single from the upcoming album on April 11. The single, Henry, Come On, gave fans the first glimpse into Del Rey’s new country sound. Del Rey spoke about the song in an Instagram video addressed to her fans, which has since been deleted. She said,

“I am so excited because Henry, Come On is out today. I’ve been sitting with the song for 17 long months. I’m really happy it’s out there for you to hear. I don’t want to say it’s my favorite song, but I do really think it’s the song that the album hinges on.”

Henry, Come On’s unveiling came with an update on the album. In the Instagram video, Del Rey also said,

“I’m really happy for this album to be moving along and I do have a lot more to say that, I mean, you know it’s not gonna come on time, right. Like, should I even tell you that the name changed again?”

Despite the delay of the album’s release, Lana Del Rey’s fans are more than happy to be listening to the singles that are already out.
