Morgan Wallen, who recently announced that he was once again collaborating with Post Malone, revealed in a new interview how the collaboration came about. The video of the interview was uploaded to the countdown section created in anticipation of his upcoming album on Spotify, where Wallen revealed that his new song, "I Ain't Coming Back," was originally written last year. The "You Proof" singer loved the song so much that he wanted it to be a part of his upcoming album, and said to Post Malone.
"Hey, if you don't put this on your album, then I'm gonna put it on mine."
Morgan previously collaborated with Post Malone in 2024 on the Grammy-nominated song "I Had Some Help," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The single was included in Post Malone's sixth studio album, F-1 Trillion. Their song, "I Had Some Help," was nominated for Best Country Song in 2024, according to Billboard.
More details about Morgan Wallen's new collaboration with Post Malone revealed
Morgan Wallen is set to release his upcoming fourth studio album, "I'm The Problem," next month on 16 May. According to People Magazine, in the interview clip posted on Spotify, Morgan Wallen says that the song was written during the making of Post Malone's own album.
Post Malone was unsure which song to include in his album. It was then decided that "I Had Some Help," would be feature on Malone's album, whereas, "I Ain't Coming Back" would be saved for Morgan Wallen's album, upon release.
In the interview, the country singer added that there are some basic differances between the two songs, and added how much he loved "I Ain't Coming Back," because of it's imagery.
"And 'I Had Some Help' just seemed like a more obvious, straight down the middle, 'this song is a hit' type song, so he ended up putting it on his record." I love this song too. It has a lot of cool imagery and me as a Christian, I think I can throw a little hints of that in my music, I am always all for it. Try not taking it too lightly, but also you know, making it cool."
Apart from his collaboration with Post Malone, Morgan Wallen announced last week that he will be collaborating with Canadian singer Tate McRae on the song "What I Want."
