On April 24, 2025, singer Summer Walker sat down with Mariah The Scientist on Apple Music’s Over It Radio podcast. During the interview, both songstresses shared their pregnancy journeys.

Walker is a mother to three children. Her first daughter was born in 2021, while she welcomed her twin boys in 2022. When Mariah The Scientist asked about her birthing journey with the twins, Walker said:

“The second birth was shorter than the first one.”

She went on:

“They were like a 7-hour birth. My first child was like a 52-hour birth.”

Summer Walker shared that she felt like she almost died during both of her past pregnancies. When Mariah asked if she planned to have another child, Walker said she did. Mariah responded by telling her to let her know when that will happen.

Walker then joked that she might join in on a pregnancy pact, but wasn’t completely sure yet. Summer Walker suggested they could even go on long, slow walks together around the neighborhood. Mariah said that being pregnant sounded nice and gentle, aside from the actual birth. Walker pointed out that it depended on who someone went through the experience with.

She welcomed her twins with Larry Williams. When she and Williams parted ways in 2022, Summer Walker shared an Instagram story, writing that Larry was a wonderful father, but there were certain things she couldn’t accept.

Despite that, she explained that they were happy to have all their children and were simply enjoying life. She also mentioned that Larry showed up for everything, from swim classes and photo shoots to doctor’s appointments and baby events.

Summer Walker talks about mental health and her journey with vegan diet

At one point in the podcast, Summer Walker asked Mariah The Scientist whether she preferred writing about love or heartbreak. Mariah answered that audiences seemed to prefer songs about heartbreak.

Walker then wanted to know how Mariah took care of her mental health. Mariah explained that working helped her because having obligations kept her from staying in bed and wasting time.

She said that once she gave her word to do something, she felt responsible for following through, as she valued commitment and keeping promises. Summer Walker chimed in, saying:

“Therapy has worked for me, for my mental health. Church has worked for me the, good old word.”

While talking about what helped her, Summer Walker mentioned that she took supplements like magnesium. Mariah The Scientist responded by saying she felt that if someone pushed through the tired feeling that supplements were supposed to cause, it could leave them feeling extremely energetic afterward. Reflecting on her journey with veganism, Walker said:

“It was a health thing. I think, ‘Oh no, I remember now cause it was so long ago I have really bad like eczema so I changed my diet and taking away the sugar the dairy and meat at the time, it like reset, I guess, my lymphatic system and is really good.”

She shared that during her pregnancy with her sons, she constantly craved steak and crab every day and night, which she believed was the reason she became thicker afterward.
