Justin Beiber used Bad Blood in his Instagram story, causing an uproar amongst fandoms of both artists.
Justin Bieber, Canadian singer and songwriter, posted a cryptic and eerie snapshot of Thursday night's eclipse with Swift's 2015 iconic revenge anthem, Bad Blood, in the background.
This led fans to jump to multiple conclusions, whether the Yummy singer is pointing out to their long-running feud or is just a harmless update on his health amid growing concerns from fans. Or maybe all of this is concocted over decades of fan theories due to the aggressive theme of the song.
One fan said:
"Not even Taylor’s version…… he wants clout."
Notably, Justin and Taylor have always had a rocky relationship, whether it was because of his relationship with Selena Gomez, who is Taylor's best friend, or because of the spat that the two singers had in 2019 when Swift accused Bieber of conspiring with his then-manager Scooter Braun and bullying Taylor.
Taylor and Justin's 2019 spat
Back in 2019, Taylor Swift was reportedly starting her battle against Scooter Braun over the ownership of her music, wherein the Grammy winner posted a blog post stating that she was never given the chance to buy her masters and feels "sad and grossed out" that Scooter Braun now owns them, calling it her "worst-case scenario."
To this, Bieber responded publicly saying:
"What were you trying to accomplish by posting that blog? Seems to me like it was to get sympathy u also knew that in posting that your fans would go and bully scooter."
He later backtracked and apologised saying:
"Hey Taylor. First of all i would like to apologize for posting that hurtful instagram post, at the time i thought it was funny but looking back it was distasteful and insensitive."
Fans react to Bieber's story
Swifties around the world were not happy with Justin for dragging Taylor into his personal drama. They took to X to voice out their opinions:
"Why is he so obsessed with female pop stars?"- one user said.
While another stated, - "Justin choosing Bad Blood... I know Hailey pacing the room right now."
Some fans also pointed out that the singer didn't use Taylor's re-recorded version of the song.
"Of course he’s using the stolen version…"- one fan said.
"Why didn’t he use taylor’s version?"- another said.
