Internet personality and online streamer DJ Akademiks shared his thoughts about rapper Aubrey Drake Graham and his recent album Some S*xy Songs 4 U, a collaborative work with PartyNextDoor.

On February 22, 2025, DJ Akademiks took to his X, where he implied that the rapper asked him to inform everyone that something big was coming up, as the album was a "warm-up." He wrote:

“He told me to tell yall.. wait for the next chapter. dis was the warmup.”

Social media users had mixed responses to the post, as many did not believe him. Meanwhile, other X users appeared optimistic about the upcoming work. One X user commented:

“Yeah we know. This album wasn’t it. This was just something to get his name back up but it ain’t doing what it’s supposed to and that number one will not last for very long. Now he’s hyping up his next solo outing. He’s reaching.”

Netizens appeared dismissive of DJ Akademiks’ statement, while others speculated how Drake would gain all the focus.

DJ Akademiks said Drake’s Some S*xy Songs 4 U album was not targeted at Kendrick Lamar

In a subsequent X post, DJ Akademiks wrote about the work of the next chapter. He finished the post with an owl emoji, a reference associated with the rapper. The post read:

“Next chapter loading! $$$4U was the first of two very important chapters in my life”

According to an exclusive report from TMZ, DJ Akademiks said he spoke to Drake about his new album and learned that it was not about Kendrick Lamar. However, he mentioned that the Super Bowl performance was aimed at the Canadian rapper. According to Akademiks:

“I spoke to Drake and shoot, after watching Kendrick’s performance that felt so obsessed with Drake at the Super Bowl, I asked him and said, ‘Hey bro, I hope this album is not gonna be completely obsessed with this guy.’ And he actually told me directly. He said, ‘Hey listen, I am not giving him any more energy.’”

Speaking to TMZ, he said Drake was still the number one rapper in the game. DJ Akademiks noted that despite people wanting the loser’s consolation speech, they won’t get it. He also pointed out the allegations that the crowd noise during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance was artificial.
