Harry Styles has been granted the go-ahead to build his $38 million luxury mansion in Hampstead, North London, merging two historic properties. However, the approval comes with unique environmental conditions intended for fostering wildlife.
As part of the stipulations, Styles must incorporate certain structural features on his opulent property, such as bat boxes, hedgehog gateways, insect hotels, and log piles. These initiatives are designed to protect animals such as hedgehogs, bats, and various bird species.
The “As It Was” singer's mansion will also include luxury amenities, such as four dressing rooms, a master suite, an indoor patio, a gallery space, and a private lounge.
The project is expected to take two years before completion, with contractors promising to follow strict guidelines to avoid disrupting the neighborhood and to work “in a neighbourly fashion.”
Styles’ fellow A-listers and well-to-do neighbors Lewis Capaldi, James Corden, Cat Deeley, and Patrick Kielty were also consulted regarding the development during previews, who didn’t raise objections.
Harry Styles' new mansion: details dexplored
Harry Styles plans to revamp and give a modern touch to an 18th-century mansion in Hampstead. Before purchase, the property was split into two semi-detached homes in the 1950s. Later, it underwent poor alterations in the 1970s that purged it of its original aesthetic and character.
Reportedly, the former One Direction singer’s property will have a plethora of rooms for guests, including a spacious TV room, a conservatory, and a gallery.
It has also been reported that a floor has been designed with Styles’ celebrity friends in mind. The area will include a living room, master guest bedroom, and bathroom, as well as three auxiliary bedrooms and four supplemental bathrooms.
The “Sign of the Times” singer purchased the larger property for over $11 million in 2019. The Grade II-listed mansion in Hampstead includes paneled doors and preserved original fanlights. It also offers a garage and dedicated private outdoor parking.
At the time of the sale, the property featured a Regency style, as well as chandeliers, fancy ceiling moldings, and draped curtains. The living room, adjacent to the dining area, features large floor-to-ceiling windows.
A curved staircase leads to the first-floor bedrooms, while the basement features a screening room and games room.
Seven months later, Harry Styles purchased the smaller adjoining Grade II-listed property for about $5 million.
