The K-pop industry comes together to celebrate idol Moonbin and give a tribute to his memory.

On the 2nd anniversary of Kpop idol Moonbin's death, a myriad of idols and groups came together to give a tribute to the late singer in the form of a song, Memory of the Moon. This included the singer's group Astro at the centre along with his sister Moon Sua of Billlie, Minhyuk, VIVIZ, Kihyun, and I.M of MONSTA X, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, DK, and Seungkwan from Seventeen, HELLO GLOOM, Rocky, Choi Yoo Jung, Chani of SF9, Kim Do Yeon, and Bang Chan of Stray Kids.

His groupmate and close friend Cha Eun Woo led this project, played a key role in making this possible, while he, along with the rest of the members of ASTRO, MJ, JinJin, Cha Eun Woo, Sanha, and former member Rocky, penned down the lyrics to the song. The lyrics start with,

When the moon door opens, we'll be standing there. We'll be there. Dreaming of the day we meet again...

Along with the song, there was also a heartfelt music video where all the artists came together and expressed their feelings with the lyrics. Besides this, RM from BTS reshared the track to show his support. But this does not sum up the impact the singer had on the industry, as last year, SEVENTEEN member Woozi, who co-wrote many of his group's songs, released "What Kind of Future" on the singer's birthday.

Netizens left in tears

Besides it already being a melancholic day for the Kpop fandom, netizens were quite moved by this gesture as well as the heartfelt lyrics of the song.

One fan said,- I was sobbing by the end when they all said they loved him…I didn’t see that coming 😭 Such a beautiful song
