KATSEYE drops wild teaser for ‘Gnarly’ music video, as fans buzz over the upcoming release.

Global sensation KATSEYE is preparing for their first official comeback ever since their debut last year. The group is coming back with a new single titled Gnarly. The five-piece global pop group, comprised of Sophia, Daniella, Yoonchae, Manon, Megan, and Lara, shared a new teaser for the same, following the stunning concept teasers.

The song, which is set to be released on April 30 with an official music video, seems to have a chaotic, club classic vibe to it, as can be told from the 23-second teaser. The video opens with Manon taking photos and videos at a club-like space and transitions to the rest of the members exhibiting just as chaotic behaviours. The idols are all sporting new looks, in tune with K-pop idols whenever they have a new comeback.

The electro-pop dance music vibe of the song is a trending genre with singers like Charli XCX, Lorde's new song, K-pop group XG, and more jumping on the bandwagon. As for the overall look and vibe of the MV, there is a chaotic chicness to all the idols' looks with maximalist elements and unique glam like a sharp black bob, messy Y2K space buns, and more.

Fans react to Katseye's comeback

The fandom, called Eyekons, expresses their excitement over their new comeback and the edgy teaser.

KATSEYE made their debut on June 28, 2024, with their debut EP Soft is Strong, featuring songs like Debut, Touch, My Way, and more. The group came together through The Debut: Dream Academy, a competition reality show with talent from all around the world, waiting for a shot. The girls were selected as the final six members in November 2023. Speaking about Debut, the group expressed,

"We want people to hear the song and want to join us and want to be with their girls and unite with their friends and their sisters. It's really just about sisterhood and being confident and strong and powerful and the best version of yourself."
