The Doechii takeover continues, and the budding superstar seems to be social media’s newest fixation. From her music to her wardrobe choices that have her hovering over fashion icon territory, the rapper has given us a glut of reasons to appreciate her creativity.
In the latest news, Doechii has posted a teaser clip from her upcoming Anxiety video on her social media accounts, and it seems like a nod to fans who truly appreciate the lore behind it. The full visual will drop Saturday, April 19, as the Swamp Princess continues to solidify her place as one of the most relevant artists in 2025.
Anxiety: Full lore explained
Anxiety was originally released in 2021 as a cover, sampling Gotye’s Somebody That I Used to Know via Doechii’s official YouTube channel. Although her initial version received praise, the clip only resurfaced years later thanks to her ardent fans and newfound success. The Florida rapper then re-recorded the song and released it on DSPs, as a gesture of fan service from an artist to her loyal supporters.
In the short period since the track has released, it has already surpassed 193 million streams on Spotify. This speaks to the quality of her earlier catalogue as well as her fanbase’s collective appreciation.
Doechii at the Create & Cultivate Festival for women in business
Only weeks removed from being dubbed Billboard‘s 2025 Woman of the Year, Doechii will continue to devote her efforts toward inspiring women in business and the arts. She will serve as the headlining performer at the Create & Cultivate Festival, which is being billed as the largest event for women in business.
The Florida native is set to take the stage April 19 in Los Angeles, in front of an audience of female executives, innovators and entrepreneurs. The highly anticipated function and celebration of women will also feature speeches from Jordan Chiles, Amanda Kloots, and others, bookended by a keynote address from Ciara.
Create & Cultivate CEO Marina Middleton released a statement regarding the upcoming event, highlighting the festival's purpose:
“We’re pioneering a new type of event to better serve the needs of modern businesswomen. Most women-focused event experiences focus exclusively on empowerment or are reserved for side events of large industry-specific conferences built only for industry optics. The Create & Cultivate Festival will break down industry barriers to unite a newly formed community of ambitious women across business, tech, sports, entertainment, hospitality, finance and culture.”
Given the nature of the event, Doechii seems an ideal choice to headline, considering she has always been a fierce ally for the empowerment of women.
