Rapper DDG thinks that ex-girlfriend Halle Bailey would’ve been a great fit for the movie Sinners.
Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., professionally known as DDG, talks about how his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, Halle Bailey, would be a good fit for the new genre-bending film Sinners. In context, during his live stream, DDG was talking about watching the movie and his reviews on it when he suddenly mentioned who he thinks would have been perfect for the role.
He said," you know who i think should've been in the movie?, I think Halle should've been in that movie."
The film starring Michael Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld is a gender-bending horror film set in the 1932 Mississippi Delta, where Jordan plays a double role. The concept is based around the twin brothers who open a juke joint and face evil threats that include vampires and the Klan. In this Southern Gothic film, Hailee plays the role of Mary, a multiracial woman dealing with grief, identity, and racial ambiguity. It seems that DDG thought Halle was perfect for the role of Mary, though the YouTuber-turned-rapper isn't quite aware of what other projects his ex has been part of or is trying for now.
He also mentions Bailey's 2023 film The Color Purple, where the Little Mermaid actress played the role of Nettie Harris.

Most fans agreed with the rapper's sentiment, while a few speculated that he was just trying to get in Halle's good books. The couple split in 2024 after dating for two years, when they were first romantically linked in 2022.
