Dave Grohl delivered a standout performance at Coachella 2025 by joining the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, on April 19, 2025. The show also included a surprise performance by Cynthia Erivo.
According to a report in Rolling Stone, the Foo Fighters frontman rocked the event as he crooned two of his songs, The Sky Is a Neighbourhood and Everlong at the Outdoor Theatre of the Indio, California.
Meanwhile, the Wicked actress Cynthia Erivo stunned the crowd when she began singing Brick By Brick, an unreleased track from her forthcoming sophomore album, I Forgive You. It was followed by her rendition of Prince’s Purple Rain.
Another guest who graced the event with her presence was Natasha Bedingfield, who sang her 2004 hit Unwritten. Coachella 2025 was held this year over two wekends — from April 11 to April 13, 2025, and then from April 18 to April 20, 2025. It featured some of the biggest names from the music industry, such as Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Post Malone, and Green Day, who were the headliners of the music festival.
On Coachella’s second weekend, Dave Grohl and Cynthia Erivo set the stage afire with their performances. Grohl’s signature high-energy vocals and guitar work received a positive response from the crowd. This was reportedly his first performance since his controversy in August 2024, when he revealed he had fathered a child outside his marriage.
Erivo’s powerful set, backed by the full orchestra, was described as “spectacular” and “unforgettable” by her fans online. According to a report in Variety, pop star Laufey joined them with her song From the Start, which was followed by her brand-new song, Silver Lining.
“I was an orchestra kid growing up, so this was my actual dream. The fact that there are so many people here for an orchestra makes me so happy for music,” she told the crowd during her performance.
LL Cool J performed a medley of his hits, including Mama Said Knock You Out, I Need Love, and Rock the Bells during the LA Phil set. Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso performed Dumbai and La quepuede, puede as the listeners danced.

This is something beautiful because we are diving between Wagner, Beethoven, Vivaldi and Bach with Laufey, with Paco, with LL Cool J, with Cynthia, all of these wonderful artists. So, it’s a journey. And you will see — there’s not any wall. Everything is a bridge. All music connects with the other, with the next, with the next.”
