Tyler, The Creator is making it known that he will not be playing songs from Cherry Bomb during his tour.
The rapper is currently on the road for Chromakopia: The World Tour, supported by his 2024 album, and he made a pit stop at Orlando’s Kia Center on Saturday night. Shortly after, a fan took to X to take credit for starting the Cherry Bomb chant, noting that they will "start it again" in the hopes of getting the singer to play Deathcamp live:
“I started that Cherry Bomb chant on Saturday and I will start it again tonight. I need to hear DEATHCAMP live,” the fan wrote on X.
The tweet has since prompted a response from the rapper himself, who noted that he will, under no circumstance, play the song live during the tour. Furthermore, he called on all his fans to refrain from chanting altogether:
"Chant all you want ( i hope you dont, its mad annoying during the show) im not gonna play it, chanting doesnt make me magically wanna play it"
Fans slam Tyler, The Creator for refusing a fan wishes, here's what X is saying:
Fans have since begun slamming the artist, with many noting that performing his own song or fans calling on him to perform a favorite should not make him so upset. Here's what some users are saying on X, for instance:
"How could fans chanting your own song possibly make you upset," someone noted.
"Responding negatively to a fan online = aura loss," another chimed in.
"Tyler needs a reality check cos those fans that love you are the reason why you're relevant.. what is the point in acting like you're too good to even consider their song request..," yet another user echoed.
"Lol he hate yall," one user quipped.
Even more chimed in to slam the rapper for his views, though a large number of his fans also stood up for him:
"You any time a fan shows any appreciation for your music in a tour where you’re letting fans pick the songs you play," a user commented.
"What do they even wanna hear from cherry bomb that’s like a personal listen album to me," one user defended the rapper.
"Tyler hates his fans pt. 17,372," someone else noted.
"Chanting for a song is like begging the chef to cook something he hates," one more said in favor Tyler, The Creator.
"Respect the artist’s vibe or catch the silence," yet another user penned on X.
Users were visibly divided, though the prevailing sentiment seems to be that Tyler, The Creator should be in favor of what his fans want.
Tyler, The Creator's Chromakopia: The World Tour will continue all through this week. He will be performing in Miami, Charlotte, N.C., Pittsburgh, and Columbus, Ohio.
