"Can’t imagine life without you" - Tyga pens heartfelt tribute as his mother passes away at 53

The rapper shared an emotional carousel of photos and videos on his Instagram on February 21, a month after his mother passed away on January 18.

Tyga, whose real name is Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson, shared a slideshow of photos and videos on Instagram of his mother, Pasionaye Nicole Nguyen, who passed away on January 18, 2025.

The carousel includes photos and videos of him and his mother from when he was small, family gatherings, and a touching moment of him holding her hand, where a hospital band can be seen on her wrist. Videos also show him buying gifts for her, singing her happy birthday, and one where she listens to a voice note she sent to him, saying,

"I’m just so proud, I just wanna shed a tear right now. OK, Mommy loves you, and you’re the best thing ever."

The post highlighted the deep connection he had with his mother. He expressed his sadness and despair in his caption, by writing,

“I’ve been trying to understand and process why God takes the most meaningful and most beautifulest people away from us. But I know I’ll never get an answer that will fill the emptiness in my heart.”

He went on to add,

"Can’t imagine life without you by my side. You were the best and most supportive person in my life, you always made things better when I felt at my lowest and worst. I would trade anything just to be able to be with you again I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. and I can’t wait for the day until we’re together again I’ll see you soon and save me a spot right next to you in paradise."

and ended the heartfelt message with,

"I Love you forever mom and I’ll do my best to celebrate you with every moment that I have left...Pasionaye Nicole Nguyen 9/11/71- 1/18/25. You took one of your best angels back GOD. I hope you know that."

Tyga's bond with his mother

Tyga has always had a special bond with his mother. He has often spoken about the importance of her role in shaping his personality and encouraging his aspirations throughout his career.
