"Bubba I am and always will be in your corner" - Brian Littrell shares heartfelt message for son Baylee following his elimination from American Idol

Singer and Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell shared a heartfelt message for his son, Baylee, after he got eliminated from the 23rd season of American Idol on April 21, 2025.

Sharing a photo on Instagram, Baylee wrote that his journey on the music reality show concluded. He shared his gratitude for his supporters and expressed his love. Brian commented on his son’s post, writing:

“Bubba I am and always will be in your corner. You’d are so strong and so very talented, and inspire me every day. It’s never the end, only the beginning for so many to be blessed by your gifts….. you killed it last night.”

Brian Littrell’s wife, Leighanne Littrell, also expressed her appreciation for Baylee in the comment section. She wrote how proud she was of the performance from the night before and said it was a shame it wasn’t shared online.

She praised him for doing an amazing job without needing anything flashy and encouraged them to keep going. She also shared her excitement for what was ahead in his career. Singer Kevin Richardson also commented on Baylee’s post, writing.

“So glad you got to experience this. Proud of you young man. Your journey has just begun.”

According to US Weekly, at the time of his audition, Baylee was accompanied by his father, who sang with him. On certain occasions during the show, he shared that trying to follow his father's path in music felt intimidating.

Baylee recalled being around 8 or 9 when he had the chance to open for the group at a massive arena show. After performing his two songs, he watched the group take the stage, and the screams and dimmed lights left him in awe.


Brian Littrell said Baylee’s music had the power to impact the audience

Brian Littrell was quite supportive of his son while he was performing on American Idol. On March 10, 2025, he congratulated Baylee on his premiere in the show. He shared an Instagram post, writing:

“Congrats @bayleelittrell_music on an incredible premiere with @americanidol. I am so proud of you Bubba - can’t wait to see you in #Hollywood!! #GoldenTicket #BayleeLittrell #BayleeOnIdol”

On April 13, 2025, he shared a video of Baylee singing. He expressed how grateful he felt to have Baylee in their lives and appreciated that he chose to share his talent with others. Brian Littrell acknowledged that the journey wasn’t always easy, but he believed Baylee’s gift had the power to impact many people.

Brian also mentioned how much he loved and admired him, adding that Baylee inspired him every day. In one episode, he performed Gone Without Goodbye, a song from Brian Littrell’s 2006 album Welcome Home.

After the performance, he told Ryan Seacrest that the song meant a lot to them and was originally dedicated to the victims of the 9/11 tragedy. He also revealed that his mother was meant to be on the second plane that hit the Twin Towers, which made him feel extremely fortunate. The song was emotional for him, and he was just thankful he was able to finish the performance.
