The hip-hop world is reeling over the untimely death of Atlanta rapper Young Scooter, whose sudden death has raised eyebrows about what happened to him.

On March 28, 2025—Scooter's 39th birthday—the police went to respond to a reported shooting and break-in at a house. Young Scooter (whose real name is Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey) tried to run away from the site but got badly injured in his leg. Although he was immediately taken to the hospital, he was declared dead at Grady Marcus Trauma Center.

Following the accident, Young Scooter's son, Kenneth Bailey Jr., shared a strongly worded post expressing anger against the Atlanta Police Department on social media. He wrote,

"Police or not ain't have no understanding about (what) you pulled straight up ain't give a f**k about no handcuffs on me. I just wanted to make sure you good dats all I kept askin and they h*e a** kept lyin. Damn my best friend gone. Happy birthday too. I know exactly what to do fasho tho you know I got my sisters and brothers they overly good yo son a Hustla just like you. Watch dis.

He continued,

I promise ima get back to yall thank yall. Im just tryna stay off this social media s**t got lame a** blogs lyin and s**t man I don't even wanna see nunna dis s**t. Broken into million pieces I don't wish dis pain on nobody. Dude a good n***a he ain't deserve this s**t."

How did Young Scooter die?

As police arrived to respond to a 911 call reporting a shooting resulting from an altercation and a woman being shoved into a residence, officers saw some people fleeing from the area, among them was Young Scooter. While fleeing, he was said to have tried to leap over fences but ended up with a severe leg injury in the process. He was rushed to the emergency surgery room in the hospital, where he eventually passed away.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Kenneth Bailey Jr. expressed his sorrow and anger via social media, blaming the Atlanta Police Department for his father's sudden demise. He stated,

"Man got me cryin every 10 min ima get off dis social media shi i just ain't know how to express myself to you cause yeen here no mo love you dawg."
