Rapper Boosie Badazz has unveiled a new scholarship program called the Caleb Wilson Memorial Scholarship. As per Baller Alert, the announcement was made by Badazz on Friday, March 21. This initiative aims to help students go to college at Southern University. Boosie shared this news at his yearly "Boosie Bash" festival, which took place at the university.
The scholarship gets its name from Caleb Wilson, who died recently. Wilson, a 20-year-old student at Southern University, passed away on February 26. He collapsed during an Omega Psi Phi fraternity event and later died in the hospital.

According to reports, Caleb Wilson might have been forced to do tough physical tasks as part of hazing. In response to the incident, authorities have arrested multiple individuals, including Caleb McCray, a Southern University graduate and fraternity member, who faces charges of criminal hazing and manslaughter. Another two individuals, Isaiah Smith and Kyle Thurman are also facing felony charges related to hazing and we are also currently looking into some more leads.
Rapper Boosie Badazz is known for his songs including Boosie Blues Cafe (2018), Badazz 3.5 (2019), Bad Azz Zay (2019), Talk Dat Sh*t (2019), Goat Talk (2019), In House (2020), Goat Talk 3 (2021), Heartfelt (2022), Lines for Valentines (2023), and more. He emphasized the importance of the scholarship in keeping Wilson’s memory alive while also assisting other students in their academic pursuits. This project is aligned with Boosie's goal of making the community special and building opportunities for young people to do well.
The Boosie Bash, a yearly event in Baton Rouge, gives people a chance to enjoy music, culture, and community involvement. This year's festival takes place at Southern University's mini-dome on March 22. It has a big lineup of artists, including GloRilla, Sexyy Red, DaBaby, B.G., Snug, Big Boogie, and others.
The event is expected to draw a monster crowd. From students to alumni and beyond, all sorts of music lovers, and enthusiasts, who can get excited about tunes from a good time they are going to have, will come.
As investigations continue, the launch of this scholarship serves as a tribute to Wilson’s legacy, transforming tragedy into a meaningful cause that will benefit future students at Southern University.
