Billy Idol teams up with Avril Lavigne for new single 77 from upcoming album Dream Into It

Billy Idol fans are in for a treat as the British punk rock icon is about to drop his brand-new album after a long time. The legendary singer-songwriter also joined forces with Avril Lavigne on his new single 77, which is a part of his upcoming album. Dream Into It, Billy's new album, was announced back in February 2025, however, the time has finally arrived. It is set to be released on April 25, 2025.

Dream Into It is Billy's first album in over ten years, which makes the album special for him and his fans. Still Dancing is the first single that was released when the album was announced in February. Following that, 77 was dropped recently, on which Billy collaborated with Canadian pop-punk singer Avril Lavigne. Both singers come from different generations—however, the kind of music they create, to some extent, is quite similar.

According to Consequence of Sound, in a recent interview with Heavy Consequence, Billy opened up about his upcoming album, discussed the second single, 77, and talked about his inspiration for the song. The 69-year-old punk-rock idol said:

"I was just sort of ruminating about how today in America, it’s not so different from what it was like in the seventies in England."

Billy Idol is about to kick off a North American tour

The Rebel Yell hitmaker, Billy Idol, who was once the frontman of Generation X, left the British punk rock band in 1981. Since then, Idol has been performing solo and collaborating with other artists. As per Consequence of Sound, Billy is all set to kick off a North American tour on April 30, 2025, along with the Blackhearts and Joan Jett.

The tour will begin in Phoenix, and it will be divided into two legs. The tour's first portion will end in Toronto on May 23, 2025, with the second portion wrapping up in Philadelphia on August 16, 2025.
