Fans go gaga as Lorde shares a snippet of what seemingly could be her new music.

In a recent TikTok, New Zealand singer and songwriter Lorde shared a snippet of what seems to be new music. This update comes after a long wait from the singer since her last album, Solar Power, in 2021. The 15-second clip showcases the Royals singer striding through New York City’s Washington Square Park dressed in a white button-down, baggy jeans, a silver chain-link belt, and headphones. The lyrics in the snippet are

Since I was 17, I gave you everything / Now we wake from a dream, well baby, what was that?/ What was that?

Adding to the mystery, her official website and Instagram account have also gone blank. But this isn't the first time she has teased new music this way. The singer has a way of breadcrumbing her drops as last year in July, she shared a two-second clip of a new song on her Instagram Story with photos of her at the studio and the caption “Will be back in touch”. Producer Jim-E Stack, who has worked with names like Gracie Abrams, Dominic Fike, and more, posted a picture of her working at the studio last August, confirming that the two are working together.

The two-time Grammy winner tends to drop her albums in successions of 4 years as Pure Heroine came out in 2013, followed by Melodrama in 2017, her third album, Solar Power, in 2021, and now her reported fourth album in 2025.
