"Another masterpiece" - Fans react as LE SSERAFIM drops music video of HOT

The K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM’s fans are going crazy over the group's new music video, “Hot.” The video debuted on March 14 on YouTube. “Hot” is one of the singles from LE SSERAFIM’s extended play, also titled Hot, which consists of a total of 5 songs.

The “Hot” music video, which reached 1 million views on YouTube within a couple of hours of its release, was directed by Yunah Sheep. Sheep has worked with LE SSERAFIM on their music video for “Crazy” in 2024.

Fans of the girl group, who are lovingly called “Fearnots” have not been able to contain their excitement since the music video’s release. Fans are blown away by the music and the visuals, with many calling the single “Hot” their favorite track. Fans are also predicting that “Hot” will become an instant hit.

A fan of the girl group took to X to express their feelings on the music video’s release, writing,

“LE SSERAFIM never misses, another masterpiece!”

Another fan succinctly captured their emotions, stating,

“So amazing”

A LE SSERAFIM emphasized that they loved the mutual spirit between the girl group’s members, writing,

Many fans drew attention to the fact that this song had the makings of another superhit by LE SSERAFIM. Some “fearnots” also suggested that “Hot” is their favorite track to be released by the five-member strong girl group.

LE SSERAFIM, which came together in 2022, consists of members Kim Chae-won, Kazuha, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, and Hong Eunchae.

According to NME, the girl group’s name is an anagram of “I’m Fearless” which captures LE SSERAFIM’s core principle - that of fearlessly working through setbacks. Even the group’s fandom “fearnot” is a reference to this principle, as well as a double play on the Korean meaning of ‘blooming,’ as per the group’s label, Source Music.

According to EnviMedia, the group’s name is also a nod to the heavenly six-winged angelic creature, seraphim. The group originally had six members, but Kim Garam left after taking an infinite hiatus, according to the same report.

The group’s first EP, titled Fearless, was released on May 2, 2022, by Source Music. According to Soompi, the EP created a record for selling the highest number of copies on the first day of a girl group’s music release.

LE SSERAFIM have four more EPs to their name which include Antifragile, Easy, Crazy, and the just released Hot. The group also released a thirteen-track album, Unforgiven, in 2023.

In a conversation with NME, the group shared the impetus behind their music, with Kim Chae-won saying,

“In ‘Easy’, we wanted to express our inner anxieties, thoughts and struggles in a very candid manner, and in ‘Crazy’, we decided not to succumb to those fears and just go crazy. In ‘Hot’, we wanted to portray wholeheartedly accepting the things that we love. Hopefully, through this trilogy, we show that LE SSERAFIM have become very resilient and solid.”

The group also received worldwide recognition when it bagged the MTV Video Music Award for Performance of the Year for Easy in 2024.

According to Korea JungAng Daily, LE SSERAFIM is set to begin its ‘Easy Crazy Hot’ world tour in April 2025, with locations across Asia and North America. The announcement of the tour received a lot of positive reactions from the group's fans.
