Brazilian pop star Anitta will no longer be performing at Coachella 2025, the singer announced on March 20, 2025. Anitta shared the news on social media leaving fans surprised as the festival is just weeks away.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is held annually in Indio, California, Rolling Stone reports. It is one of the biggest music festivals in the world.

The festival reportedly draws 125,000 attendees per weekend and millions more via livestream. For many, it serves as a key international platform. It is also a significant platform for artists who want to expand their presence in the U.S. music scene.

Anitta was initially set to perform on April 12 and 19, 2025. This would have been her third appearance at the festival after her performance in 2022 and a guest spot with Peso Pluma in 2024.

Anitta's statement on X

The singer took to her official X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the news of the cancellation.

The X post read:

"I was really looking forward to being at Coachella this year, but due to unexpected personal reasons, I will not be able to perform. I am truly grateful to the festival for the invitation, their understanding, and continued support."

She added in comments:

"I hope to have the opportunity to join you all in the future and share that special moment together."

As of now, Coachella organizers have not publicly addressed her withdrawal or announced a replacement for her slot, reports suggest.

Netizens were quick to react to the news of Anitta's Coachella 2025 appearance cancellation. Below are what some users had to share regarding it:

"I am not attending coachella and Anitta’s cancellation is making me feel so sad just think about the fans who bought tickets booked hotels and stays and rental cars to watch her perform live omg. That has to be 1000s of dollars and a broken heart", wrote a netizen.
"No show from the funk generetion tour in Brazil, no funk generetion deluxe, no Coachella???? Damn, only health issues are understandable. And I think the fans deserve more explanation about it.", opined another.
"It's so distressing not knowing the specific reason for the cancellation. A movie plays in everyone's head, because we know that Anitta would never cancel an engagement if she didn't have a very good reason for doing so. I hope everything is fine with your health and the health of your family.", penned a third.

As reported by Billboard, Anitta made history as the first Brazilian solo artist to perform on the festival's main stage in 2022. Her set was infused with Brazilian funk tracks. It also featured Snoop Dogg and Saweetie as surprise guests.

Moreover, in 2024, the Brazillian singer returned as a guest performer when she joined Mexican star Peso Pluma for a performance of their song Bellakeo.

This year's Coachella lineup features Latino artists like:

  • Alok (Brazil)
  • The Marias
  • Rawayana
  • Ca7riel & Maco Amoroso
  • Ivan Cornejo
  • Junior H

Per reports, with Anitta opting out, DJs Alok and Vintage Culture are now the only Brazilian acts left on the 2025 Coachella lineup.
