As mentioned above, Doyoung is set to release his second studio album on June 9, 2025. The singer released his debut solo album, Youth, back in 2024 on April 24, 2024. He spoke about that album as well as his music in general in an exclusive interview with NME on April 30, 2024, stating:

"I made a conscious effort to really show who I am as a person. I had to ask myself, ‘What is the story that I have to share? What do I want to represent at this stage in my life?’ I thought about it for a while and the word ‘youth’ came to me."

He later added:

"The working process was certainly different without that group discussion or input of the other members.. (more responsibility) pushed me to really focus on myself, my thoughts, and follow where the music was leading me."

The singer later talked about the support and advice offered by fellow NCT member Taeyong, stating:

"We talked through what it means to put together and release a solo album, and what challenges I could expect in the process. I think Taeyong hyung definitely offered me more cautionary, realistic advice on what to expect."

He also added how the enlistment of Taeyong into the ROK military for mandatory service influenced him during the creative process of the album:

"With Taeyong hyung enlisting for his military service, there came a point where all of us had to think about when we would next tour as the complete team. Because of that uncertainty, I couldn’t help but feel more sentimental."

Doyoung's Youth went on to become highly successful upon release, charting at the 3rd spot on the Korean album chart and gaining a platinum certification in Korea. The album consisted of 10 tracks, with a runtime of around 36 minutes.

Aside from his solo career, Doyoung is best known for working with NCT as well as NCT subunits NCT-127 and NCT DooJaeJung. The singer debuted in 2016 as part of NCT U, the first subunit, and then subsequently moved on to NCT 127 in the same year, and then later on NCT DooJaeJung in April 2023.

Aside from his music career, Doyoung is also known for his work with television shows, including series such as Master in the House and the web series Dear X Who Doesn't Love Me.
