Arcade Fire has officially dropped a new single. Moreover, a new album is also on the way. The Montreal-based band dropped Year of the Snake on April 9, 2025. This is the reported lead track of their upcoming seventh studio album, Pink Elephant, which is scheduled to be released on May 9, 2025.
The band has been teasing new material for some time. Cryptic, pink posts and a new social media bio generated speculations recently, reports suggest. Now, with the release of Year of the Snake, the new album is confirmed.
Pink Elephant will be Arcade Fire's first album since WE (2022) and their first release since frontman Win Butler faced s*xual misconduct allegations.
The new record is produced by Win Butler, his wife and bandmate Régine Chassagne, and Canadian producer Daniel Lanois. It was recorded at their home studio, Good News Recording, in New Orleans, Billboard reports.
