Mariah Carey's relationship with her brother, Morgan Carey, has been publicly rocky. In a recent development shared by Daily Mail, Morgan has reportedly claimed that he became aware of a video to "damage" his reputation. The video, titled 'Morgan Carey: A Deep Dive Into Mariah Carey's Disturbing Old Brother' was reportedly released on YouTube approximately three months ago.
Morgan has alleged that the video was posted by one of Mariah's fans, Lambily who was under the singer's "employment and control." According to Daily Mail, Morgan has reportedly filed an amended lawsuit against Mariah, demanding $40 million in damages and profits from her memoir, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey. The memoir released in 2020, revealed Mariah's complicated relationship with her family members.
Mariah Carey's brother reportedly asks for $40 million in damages and profits in an amended lawsuit against the singer

Morgan Carey previously had filed a lawsuit against his estranged sister, Mariah in 2021. The lawsuit alleged that Mariah had made false comments about him in her memoir, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey. The singer had previously alleged that she refers to Morgan as her "ex-brother" and grew up in a volatile and reportedly abusive environment. While referring to her brother, she wrote,
“More often, I felt I had to protect myself from him, and sometimes I would find myself protecting my mother from him too."
Per the New York Post, Morgan had denied all claims and subsequently filed the lawsuit. In an amended filing, Morgan has demanded $40 million in damages and profits from the book. According to Mail Online, 14 of his 16 claims were reportedly dismissed from his original lawsuit.
While the connection between the YouTube account, Lambily, and Mariah hasn't been established, the account has 6 videos all associated with the singer. Additionally, another video was posted on the account, titled Alison Carey: A Deep Dive Into Mariah Carey's Toxic Older Sister was released in a similar format. Mariah had alleged that Alison had attempted to "pimp" the then 12-year-old Mariah, and had also thrown "boiling water" causing "third-degree burns".
Alison filed the lawsuit around the same timeline as her brother but died in 2024 before the suit could come to a close. Mariah's late sister had also previously sued her for her comments in the memoir. No official comments have been obtained from Mariah about the lawsuit.
Mariah's brother, Morgan Carey, has amended the lawsuit to claim $40 in damages. The original lawsuit can be traced to 2021, after Mariah released her memoir in 2020. She had elaborated on her experiences with her brother, which had allegedly prompted her to protect their mother. The singer also reportedly elaborated on other volatile experiences growing up.
