Singer and actress Mariah Carey is reflecting on her music journey on social media. Carey was nominated by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the second time on February 13. The singer confirmed the nomination last month with a to-vote post and expressed happiness for the "incredible honor."
Per Rolling Stone, the artist's album or single had to be released in 2000 or earlier to win a nomination. Carey was eligible for the nomination in 2016 but was only nominated for the first time in 2024. Additionally, she wasn't inducted into the Class of 2024.
Mariah Carey dropped a montage of her music journey on Instagram and expressed gratitude for her Rock Hall nomination. She noted,
"It’s been quite a journey! Truly honored to be nominated for the @rockhall."
Mariah Carey reflects on her music journey as she is nominated for Rockhall second time

Mariah Carey has made her way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the second consecutive year. Carey released her debut single, Vision of Love, in 1990 and subsequently her self-titled album later that year. In her debut year, the Emotions singer took away two Grammy Awards.
Mariah Carey has worked in the music industry for more than three decades and has amassed a huge following. While Mariah's name has become synonymous with Christmas jingles, the singer has revealed no regrets. In an exclusive interview with the Standard in December 2024, she noted,
"It’s what I’ve been worried about too, that people would only know me for Christmas. But in a way, I wouldn’t care, because I do just love Christmas so much!”
Per the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, the Class of 2025, or the Performer Inductees, will be announced in late April. The official dates of the performance and ticket sale details are yet to be announced.
