Kanye West's latest tweet about Playboi Carti has given netizens a new topic to buzz about. Ye and Carti were once a popular duo that shared a stage, but ever since Kanye West was left out of Playboi's latest album, I Am Music, their relationship has turned sour.

Following a back-and-forth that included Ye involving Playboi Carti’s child's mother, Iggy Azalea, and Carti telling Kanye to STFU, the relationship between the duo seemed to have reached an all-time low.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Kanye West took to his official X account to tweet about the I Am Music hitmaker.

“I love Carti.”

The post received mixed reactions from netizens and caused speculation about whether the two had reconciled.

@ye24vision commented:

“MAKE CARTI YE HAPPEN.”

Similar comments echoed this sentiment as netizens asked for a collaboration between both artists.

“We need the Ye Carti collab album,” @RodeoTheAlbum commented.
“LETS GO THE TEAM IS BACK,” @00MATRX stated.

Other netizens didn't appreciate Kanye West’s tweet.

“You said you only speak with someone worth a minimum of 1billion.. but carti is an exception?” @unsocialx_ questioned.
“His music is TRASH. You only sayin thus cuz you want to yns to f**k w you. Keep bein Ye, you don’t need that bullshit,” @VerneBurn69 tweeted.
“Pick a lane, dude. What’s up w you?!” @0xMommyyy added.

While some wanted the reconciliation to be true or didn't appreciate Kanye's tweet, other netizens believed the tweet to be a part of Ye's April Fool's stunt.

“Can’t tell if this is ur bipolar or an april fools joke,” @utdbrxy tweeted.
“It’s either because it’s April fools or he actually had a convo with Carti from that guy from his camp,” @noonxverx replied.
“Carti's about to be real pissed once he sees the date,” @Scope360Journal added.

Ye and Carti's relationship dates back to 2017 when Playboi modelled for Kanye's brand Yeezy after calling him a “fashion inspiration.”

In 2020, Kanye West helped produce Playboi Carti's second studio album, Whole Lotta Red, and in a conversation with Interview Magazine, Carti called Kanye “the OG” and “ultimate big bro.”

Carti said:

“Being able to talk to somebody who understands what I’m saying, I got that from his whole camp. I felt that energy from everybody he deals with.”

The duo went on to collaborate on many more songs, including the successful track CARNIVAL, which earned Carti his first Billboard Hot 100.

Their falling out happened after Playboi Carti released his hit album on March 14, and although I Am Music features a long list of collaborators, Kanye West was noticeably absent from the list. Ye didn't take kindly to this going to Twitter immediately after Carti asked Kim for a collaboration with North, calling the little star his ‘niece.’

“HOW IT LOOK FOR ME TO GET LEFT OFF THE ALBUM AND THEN HE ASK KIM TO HAVE VOCALS FROM MY DAUGHTER,” West wrote in his first tweet for Carti. "HIM GOING TO MY EX TO ASK MY DAUGHTER TO BE ON A SONG 2 DAYS LATER WAS TOO FAR. NOBODY FINNA PLAY WITH ME.”

Kanye went on to slam Carti more, even including Iggy Azalea and Onyx (Carti's son) in the beef.

Carti's response to Kanye’s long rants was with a tweet.

“Ye STFU,” he tweeted.

At the time of writing this article, Playboi Carti has not responded to Kanye's latest tweet claiming to love him.
