Fans react to Disturbed's David Draiman's potential collaboration with Kendrick Lamar
David Draiman expressed his wish to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar and bring the best of their "artistry." In his exclusive interview with Chicago's Q101 radio station, Briad Haddad spoke to David about his new album and songs.
Briad began the conversation by noting that he was surprised to see David's comment on the video of the 30-second mashup he posted on Instagram. The unofficial mashup features the vocals of Disturbed's David Draiman and Kendrick Lamar.
David took to the comment section after the mashup was released. He described it as "nice" and tagged Kendrick Lamar to pay "respect". He added:
"We’ve got a track that we would LOVE for you to collab with us on? A modern day “walk this way/bring the noise” type thing promoting unity. Whatcha think?"
After Briad referenced the conversation, David noted:
“You know what? It’s actually something we’ve been thinking about. And Kendrick is way at the top of the list.”
Without revealing specific details, he explained that they have been working on a "new track" and "album". He added that the new track is "about unity" and "bringing people together."
However, it is unclear if Kendrick Lamar will be officially collaborating with the metal artist. Additionally, no official comment has been made by the latter.
While David didn't reveal specific details about the newest track or album, he publicly expressed his wish to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar. He has also revealed he has tried reaching out to Lamar on social media. While it is unknown if Lamar has responded, any potential collaboration may bring the best of rap and heavy metal together.
