"L opinion": Internet express disappointment as Pitchfork rates Playboi Carti's "I AM MUSIC" album 7.7/10

The American online music magazine, Pitchfork has rated Playboi Carti's latest music album, I Am Music, and fans were not happy with the numbers. Playboi Carti's third studio album contains a total of 30 tracks with 11 features including some of the most famous rappers in the country.

According to its bio on Instagram, Pitchfork calls itself "The most trusted voice in music". A few hours ago they dropped their rating for Carti's album I Am Music and they gave it a 7.7/10. Many fans were not happy with this number and have expressed themselves online.

NFR Podcast (@nfr_podcast) posted the Pitchfork rating on their X account and this is how one fan responded,

How did fans respond to Pitchfork's rating of Playboi Carti's third studio album?

The comment section saw a mix of opinions from the fans. Some were laughing it off while others expressed why the album flopped for them.

Another user who is not a fan of the album was surprised at the high rating it received. The user commented,

A Playboi Carti fan was quick to point out that Pitchfork was wrong for giving the album a 7.7. They wrote,

One user expressed how they do not take Pitchfork's ratings seriously anymore. They commented,

"I Dont take pitch fork seriously after they rated Y2K above jcoles 2014 album" - @Mk_Jordi said.

While one user blamed Kendrick Lamar for the lower rating. They said,

"Had like 2 good songs. Kendrick lower the value of that one song" - @soupremejelly stated.

A user said that a 7.7 is a big deal from Pitchfork, but they were curious as to why the album was overhyped. Their comment reads,

While the rating given by Pitchfork was not satisfactory for many fans, this does not stop them from streaming Playboi Carti's music and latest album. As seen from Carti's monthly Spotify listeners. Currently, there are more than 54 million listeners who enjoy his work.
