The fifth studio album from Kali Uchis, titled 'Sincerely,' is set to release on May 9, 2025. Uchis declared Sincerely to be the deepest meaningful album she has produced to date while describing it as both genuine and delicate. According to Uchis, Sincerely stands as her most significant and impactful project because she explores deep human emotions and complicated life experiences through this work.

During an interview with Billboard’s Rania Aniftos & Jazzy on the red carpet at the Billboard Women in Music 2025, Uchis was asked about what the album means to her and what we can expect from that. To which she replied,

" It's definitely my most vulnerable work. It's very existential. My last album was very dance so this is just completely opposite direction and emotional one."

The first song of the album, titled "Sunshine & Rain," arrived on March 27, 2025. The upcoming Capitol Records debut, Sincerely, serves as her first album release under the label while opening an important new phase in her music career. The album follows her new milestone of giving birth to her first child with Don Toliver in March 2024, giving this new era a personal touch.

Album concept and themes

Uchis has spoken about how a "life-changing" experience inspired Sincerely, with its reflective and emotional depth. She did not disclose what that experience was but disclosed that the album is about loving life, being happy despite trouble, and living in the present. She said,

" Not even just motherhood, I've had multiple life-altering events that have really shaped my entire world and the way that i look at my life and the way that i live on the day-to-day basis so more to come......."

The cohesive message within Sincerely would appear to be focused on coping and self-determination. Uchis has become accustomed to incorporating personal experience into the music, so the album must carry on that tradition. The listener can expect a complete use of existentialism, personal empowerment, and things going awry in terms of life.

Visual and symbolic elements

Sincerely's release came with a teaser video posted on Uchis' Instagram account on March 17, 2025. Here's the video:

She uses a wax marker to stamp a letter announcing Sincerely as the album title. The visual elements of this letter deliver all the album's essential themes regarding sincerity, emotional vulnerability, and personal introspection.

Uchis has kept a keen eye on the appearance and imagery of her music since the beginning and Sincerely appears to take this further. The photography in the teaser gives the impression that the album will include imagery that is close-up and intimate to match its contemplative sound.

Release and anticipation

As Sincerely looms on the horizon, excitement is high. This is Uchis' third consecutive year of dropping a full-length album, which indicates that she is committed to working on her craft. Fans are eager to know how her personal life and recent life changes have influenced her sound and stories.

While details of the album's sound remain under wraps, its deeply personal material and emotional depth are going to make Sincerely a worthwhile addition to Uchis' catalog. With the release imminent, anticipation grows for what could be one of her most personal and emotional efforts to date.
