Has The Weeknd performed at Coachella before?
The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has reportedly performed at Coachella multiple times. His debut U.S. performance took place at Coachella in 2012, as per a report in the Los Angeles Times.
He swayed the crowd with his songs, which featured Wicked Games, Crew Love (a song by rapper Drake featuring The Weeknd), and The Morning from his mixtapes. His next performance was in 2015. He sang some of his greatest hits, including Thursday, Echoes of Silence, and House of Balloons.
He then serenaded the crowd with Remember You, his collaboration with Wiz Khalifa. He also sang an untitled track produced by Million $ Mano, which sent his fans into a frenzy, per Hypebeast.
In 2018, The Weeknd delivered a widely praised set as he headlined the event. It showcased his evolution from newcomer to established A-lister. He kicked off his performance with Pray for Me from Black Panther: The Album. The song also features rapper Kendrick Lamar.
He gave a heart-wrenching performance when he sang Call Out My Name as tears rolled down his face.
Can’t Feel My Face, Starboy, and Party Monster were some of the other songs he performed during the festival in 2018. According to a report in Entertainment Weekly, it was a career-spanning show for the then 28-year-old singer.
That wasn’t all. In 2022, he again headlined Coachella, alongside Swedish House Mafia, after Kanye West reportedly dropped out. This was the fourth time the singer appeared at the festival.
According to a report in Billboard, the show contained his biggest career hits, which were blended together with cuts from his then chart-topping studio album Dawn FM.
In March 2025, the singer announced a tour called After Hours Til Dawn, a North American stadium tour running from May 9 to September 3, 2025.
