More details on Playboi Carti's latest album

Netizens have linked Playboi Carti's new project announcement to how he teased his latest album, I Am Music, back in 2020. After the success of his second studio album, Whole Lotta Red, the artist hinted at a new project three months later via his Instagram account. By August 2021, he revealed that the album would be titled Narcissist and released on September 13, 2021.

The year progressed and passed without the release of the album. In an April 2022 interview with XXL, the rapper mentioned that the album had evolved and its title had been changed to Music. After a long wait and delay, Music, also called I Am Music, was released.

The album features thirty tracks, including Pop Out, Crush (with Travis Scott), K Pop, Evil J0rdan, Mojo Jojo, Philly with Travis Scott, Radar, Rather Lie with the Weeknd, Fine Shit, and Backd00r featuring Kendrick Lamar and Jhené Aiko to mention a few.

The album featured several artists, including Jhené Aiko, Skepta, Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla Sign, and Young Thug. Future and Kendrick Lamar also had multiple features on the album.

I Am Music garnered positive reactions from critics. NME's Kyann-Sian Williams described the album as follows:

"Music isn't just an expansion of Carti's sonic world, but a refinement that spins his characteristic chaos into something cinematic."

Ben Beaumont-Thomas of The Guardian said that the album showcased Carti's "almost mystical level of vocal range."
