BLACKPINK’s Lisa was a guest on the popular Thai radio talk show WOODY FM, where she spoke with the host, Vuthithorn Milintachinda, about stalking incidents last year. The K-pop idol revealed that it was a usual occurrence to see fans waiting for her at South Korean airports.

She thought nothing of their presence until she arrived home and saw them waiting for her there. She revealed to the interviewer that she was alone at home and her house didn’t have high walls. She told the person lurking outside her house that she was uncomfortable:

“So I told that person, ‘I’m really not comfortable with this. If you want to see me, let’s meet somewhere public. Showing up like this at my house, I feel uncomfortable.'”

Lisa also recounted how the same “fan” would visit her home at night and make her scared to go outside. Lisa added that the ordeal left her feeling scared:

“That’s when I really started to worry because I was completely alone. There was no one with me.”

More details about BLACKPINK's Lisa’s experience with stalkers

The BLACKPINK member described 2024 as a “rollercoaster year” for her due to the number of projects she and her team were involved in. The Rockstar hitmaker revealed that she was stressed and constantly worried about how her projects would turn out. She admitted that some negative comments online made her feel discouraged. When asked if she wanted to share details about anything that had happened to her in the last ten years, Lisa began to talk about the sasaeng (stalking incident).

“I’ve never shared this before. Last year, it was the first time I actually experienced it myself. I’ve heard a lot about it from other idol friends, mostly from male idols. But it just happened to me.”

After she spoke about the incident of a stalker following her from the airport to her home, she recalled another incident where someone tried to forcefully get into a taxi with her.

“I was leaving my house to take a taxi to a dance rehearsal, but my manager couldn’t come to pick me up. So I thought it was just a rehearsal, I could go there and get back home myself. But then that person tried to get into my taxi by sticking their leg between the taxi door.”

According to BLACKPINK's Lisa, the experience left her feeling unsafe and scared to be alone. Her female manager had to stay with her for a while. She added that even though her dog, Love, would bark, the whole experience was terrifying.

In September 2024, Korean rapper Beenzino reported to the police that he was being stalked. The suspected culprit was a woman in her 30s. Other Korean celebrities who stalkers have harassed in the past include BLACKPINK's Jennie, TWICE's Nayeon, Lee Jun-ho of 2 PM, Kim Jae-joong of JX, NCT Jeno, and Baekhyun of EXO.
