BTS j-hope has been giving his fans steady back-to-back releases since the completion of his mandatory military service. The K-pop star returned from the military last October and decided to embark on his solo career with so much fervor.

J-hope announced his Hope On the Stage Tour on Friday, January 10 and was quick to embark on it in February 2025. It started in Seoul before touching down in cities across North America and Asia.

Following the beginning of his solo tour, j-hope released the popular single Sweet Dreams featuring Miguel on March 7 and MONA LISA on March 21. Both songs debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 66 and 65, respectively, making j-hope one of the K-pop idols with the most songs to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Recently, the Mona Lisa hitmaker commented about his latest achievements, stating:

“It’s such an honor to have so many of my songs on the chart, and I’m incredibly grateful in so many ways. I’ve come to realize how many people are loving and connecting with my music, and at the same time, that pushes me to think about what kind of music I should create next as an artist.”

He added:

“I feel that my life at the moment is filled with greater anticipation and excitement for what’s to come.”

In the April 5 music feature of Los Angeles Times, j-hope reveals his thoughts about his solo career in an interview. The worldwide acclaimed star revealed how serious he is with his new releases.

“I feel like this was a challenge that I needed to take on after my military service. And up until now, I focused on what I liked, but this time, I wanted to collaborate with great producers who have a deeper understanding of the culture. I was curious about their take on j-hope as an artist. Once I took that step forward, I felt it would open up new opportunities for me to experiment and take my music to the next level. I truly feel this is a great time for me.”

After being asked if he has been enjoying the response from ARMY with his two latest releases having a sexy vibe, something quite distinct from his usual style of music, Hoseok answered:

“Well, you know, I didn’t have too much of this on my mind when I was making these songs, but I wanted to make a song that kind of expressed my maturity after the military service. So, it kind of came naturally. So, I wanted to show another visual side of me as j-hope, and I want to show something new, a new facet of me for my fans.”

The Sweet Dreams singer revealed a lot during the interview. He talked about his time as ‘Jay’ and how he was enjoying his ongoing tour, explaining that he loves how he is able to connect with his fans at a very personal level.
