Ed Sheeran recently released his first single this year, titled Azizam, on April 4, 2025, which was just a few days ago. He also appeared on Alexandra Cooper's podcast titled Call Her Daddy. Alex and Ed talked about a number of topics. According to a caption from Call Her Daddy's post, the two talked about:
"Nights in his backyard pub, secret movie obsessions, and navigating career insecurities. We even dissect some of his most iconic lyrics" - @callherdaddy captioned.
While talking about films and movies, the A Team singer told Cooper that he has a Letterboxd account where he logs in all the films he has watched. Letterboxd is a media platform where you can share your taste in film and even write film reviews.
Sheeran told Cooper:
"No one knows I have a Letterboxd… I have no followers on it, literally I just log the films that I watch... No one reads it, it’s just for me to log it,... It’s public… I guess they’ll find out now... I think it’s more fun for people to find it." - the "Shape of You" singer admitted.

Ed Sheeran opens up about his journey in pursuing music as a career
Ed Sheeran is not only a pop star but he also goes around schools giving talks about how music can be a career path. During the interview, he mentioned:
"I’d love my legacy to be [that] any kid, anywhere, literally anywhere, goes, ‘I can do that too,’... Music is a thing for kids that aren’t good at other things, that don’t have a lot of self-worth or self-confidence… gives you so much worth and confidence in yourself as a human being."
He shared about how he felt as a child when he was in school.
"...in school there’s so much importance put on, ‘You must be good at this subject [to] actually be a good human being and to go out in the world and achieve, and I just wasn’t good at anything as a kid and I didn’t have a lot of self-worth because of that – I felt like I was stupid." - Sheeran admits.
Ed Sheeran shared with Alex what he wanted his legacy to be. He explained:
"I was only good at music and that became my career, and when I go into schools and talk to people, I tell them you only need one thing that you’re good at, and then that is you for life… that is your career. And that is what I would love my legacy to be." - Sheeran concludes.
Ed Sheeran is a man of his words. Recently, he shared an open letter and was supported by many of his artist friends. The letter was addressed to prime minister Keir Starmer and it asks for a long-term funding of music education in the UK. The letter states:
"We are writing collectively as artists, civil society and industry, appealing to your personal belief in music and the promise of opportunity for all under Labour... Learning an instrument and getting up on stage – whether in school or a community club – is now a luxury not every child can afford... The time to act is now. State schools – which educate 93 per cent of the country’s children – have seen a 21 per cent decrease in music provision." - Sheeran wrote.
