In one of his tweets, he asked high-profile figures like Jay-Z and Elon Musk why they aren't speaking out for him and mentioned that:
''But I don’t get to be a dad''

Kanye West claims to want to raise his kids amidst the ongoing custody battle
Amid the ongoing custody battle with ex-wife Kim, Kanye West took to X to share his feelings and made some claims in a series of tweets on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Kanye and Kim have four children: Saint, North, Chicago, and Psalm.
In one of the tweets, he called out celebrities including Rihanna and her husband, Rocky, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Kendrick, the US President Donald Trump, and Elon Musk. He said that they are all like a family and in the same boat. He also asked why they weren’t supporting him, as his rights were being stripped away. He also said:
''Why are you all watching and letting Kim take my kids from me in real time. Yall wanna say I’m acting out cause of things in my childhood. But I don’t get to be a dad.''
In another tweet, he also mentioned how he doesn't want to only see his kids. He said:
''I need to raise them. I’m a good dad. I’m a great father to have.''
In a tweet, he mentioned that he needs to figure out how to exercise his rights with his kids. He then recalled an incident where he was at Kylie Jenner, Kim's sister's, place when Kobe Bryant, the American basketball player, had died, and said that in the living room, there was a vintage Playboy Magazine, which was easily within reach of the children in the house.
While Kanye West didn’t mention any names, he hinted that it was a deliberate act. He also claimed that he wants his kids to grow up protected and respected.
He then tweeted that, for the sake of his kids, he needs to find the right lawyer. The custody battle between the two started after their divorce in 2022. During that time, they both agreed on a joint physical and legal custody of their four children.
The custody tensions have, however, been active for quite some time, with Kanye West frequently claiming that he doesn't have complete rights as a father.
