Sauce Walka and his artist shot in Memphis
Walka, the founder of The Sauce Factory (TSF), an independent record label was shot in the afternoon of March 22. The incident occurred when a car with multiple people showed up and started firing. Sauce was shot in the leg and then hospitalized.
His TSF artist, however, succumbed to his injuries. The Memphis police are still looking for the shooters. In a press conference that was held on Saturday, the authorities confirmed that the attack was a targeted one. They said:
“This appears to be a targeted shooting incident. The victims were outside by a vehicle. The suspect vehicle pulled up. Multiple people got out of that vehicle, fired shots without engaging in any conversation, they got back into the white vehicle and fled.”
As per Sauce Walka's family, he is expected to make a full recovery. In the video, posted on X, Sauce is seen expressing his feelings towards his artist who was shot by saying RIP man and then he also says that he isn't scared and would be coming for them (could be implying at the shooters).
Sauce was involved in several gun-related incidents in 2009. He was also charged with shooting and wounding a person during a concert. In 2018, the Houston Police said that in 2009 he was involved with a gang called Mash Mode and used the name A-Walk at the time.
The Texas authorities described his record label The Sauce Factory as a documented gang known for criminal activity. Responding to accusations made, Sauce Walka said:
"I'm going to keep rapping because I know I'm not a gang. I know we're not a gang, I know that I'm a record label, I know that I'm an artist [...] I'm not into gang activity or none of that stuff that's going on, I'm not worried about that, it's not what's going on."
Sauce Walka began his rapping career in 2007 and was a part of the rap group called Mostheard. He has released a number of mixtapes, including Sorry 4 The Sauce 2, Sauce Ghetto Gospel, Sauce Ghetto Gospel 3, and Sauce Beach Florida.
