In a recent Instagram post, Justin Bieber shared the news of his grandfather's death with his followers.

The singer posted a heartfelt caption for his late grandfather, Bruce Dale, who passed away on April 26, 2025. The photo included a picture of Bieber and his grandfather in 2009. The Somebody To Love singer had both his hands cradling Bruce Dale's face.

Justin Bieber captioned the post:

"Papa , I always took all ur money lol. I remember u specifically telling me, gramma gave u an allowance of 20 dollars for the WEEK! I would always convince you to spend on snacks at the hockey game on Friday nights. Reluctantly you always gave it to me. Corn nuts, skittles, gum balls, chuck a puck, slush puppies ," he listed some of the snacks that reminded him of his memories with his 'papa'.

He continued by recalling a fond memory:

"For enduring all of my grandpas heckling for all of your horrible referee calls lmfao , my grandpa wasn’t shy in letting them know that they were being pieces of sh**s. I can’t wait to see u again soon in heaven ."

His next words, full of warmth mixed with humor, added a bittersweet touch to it:

"Until then I know ur watching down probly still heckling Beatty or Fagon for missing that cross check call in the corner there lmfao I will miss u. I will ache And I’ll sit and let myself remember all of the wonderful times we’ve had," the singer closes the caption.

Bruce Dale had always been supportive of his grandson in the past and even made a few appearances in Justin Bieber's documentaries. He was in Never Say Never (2011) and Justin Bieber: Seasons (2020) docuseries. In 2018, Dale was interviewed, and he shared about the first time he saw Justin on stage. He said:

"[It] was amazing... Grandma and I drove eight hours to get to [Bieber’s] first show, and he didn’t know we were coming... I can sit and talk with anybody about anything, but when it comes to talking about him, I just get emotional."
