The 1993 rock band, Garbage, announced via their Instagram account the release of the new album Let All That We Imagine Be the Light.

The Wisconsin band, best known for its singles such as Only Happy When It Rains and Stupid Girl, announced that their eighth studio record will be released on May 30, 2025, through their label Stun Volume.

Shirley Manson, the Scottish singer who has been with Garbage since its formation, has served as the lead singer for the upcoming album.

All about Garbage's new album Let All That We Imagine Be the Light

Garbage was formed nearly three decades ago and has members who are actively part of the band. It includes Shirley Manson, the vocalist Duke Erikson, the guitarist, bassist, and keyboardist Butch Vig, the drummer and co-producer of the band, and Steve Marker, the guitarist, and keyboardist.

The upcoming album, Let All That We Imagine Be the Light, will be a follow-up to their 2021 seventh album, No Gods No Masters. The album was initially supposed to be released in 2023. However, it faced multiple delays, and the date got pushed back to 2025.

Shirley Manson, the lead vocalist of the album, revealed that the delay was because of the hip replacement surgery she went through in 2023 and 2024, being bedridden, and then the death of her dog.

The upcoming album was recorded at Red Razor Sounds in Los Angeles, Shirley Manson's bedroom, and Butch Vig's home studio. The production was handled by Billy Bush. Following the new album announcement, the band also announced their upcoming North American Tour.

On March 25, 2025, Garbage announced that they are starting their North American tour, Happy Endings, in September 2025 and will cover over 30 cities. This will be the band's first headline tour in the US and Canada in over three years.

The tour is set to begin in Orlando, Florida, and conclude in Phoenix, Arizona. Starcrawler, a rock band from Los Angeles, will be the special guest for the entire tour.

Describing the theme and inspiration behind the upcoming album, Let All That We Imagine Be the Light, Shirley Manson says:

“Going into making this record, I was determined to find a more hopeful, uplifting world to immerse myself in. The title of the album, Let All That We Imagine Be the Light, is the perfect descriptor for this new record as a whole.''

She continued:

"When things feel dark it feels imperative to seek out forces that are light, positive and beautiful in the world. It almost feels like a matter of life and death. A strategy for survival.”

Fans and music lovers are eagerly anticipating the song's release, ready to immerse themselves in its sound and experience.
