Since the announcement of Lady Gaga’s eighth studio album, Mayhem (2025), and the subsequent reveal of her global Mayhem Ball Tour, fans have been teeming with excitement. The tour doesn't kick off until later this year, in July in Las Vegas, but the promotional tours are already in full swing. The first stop is the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, which will mark her first show in Mexico in 13 years.

These shows will be a marked departure from Lady Gaga's performances of yesteryears as they will be played in sold-out arenas worldwide, adding to the rustic feel of the event. Gaga recently shared her excitement at the prospect in a recent interview in which she said:

"This is my first arena tour since 2018. There’s something electric about a stadium, and I love every moment of those shows. But with The MAYHEM Ball, I wanted to create a different kind of experience—something more intimate—closer, more connected—that lends itself to the live theatrical art I love to create."

The anticipation for Lady Gaga's Mayhem Ball Tour has only intensified following her headlining performances at Coachella on April 11 and 18, 2025. There are lots of videos on social media of overjoyed fans enjoying her public appearances, and most recently, she found herself fenced in at her hotel as fans swarmed her car from all sides in Mexico.

The clip went viral on social media and sparked a wave of reactions from users on X who were incensed at the lack of private space being afforded to the pop star:

"That's not very respectful", commented one fan
"Not a super hot take but we should stop this", remarked another
"Little Monsters going wild!", quipped another user
"If they are true fans, they should give her a breathing space. this could trigger anxiety" noted a fourth user

Although there was severe backlash on social media, the incident only serves to highlight the fans' adoration for the pop star. Mexico is not the only major country on the agenda for Lady Gaga's promotional tour, with Brazil and Singapore as the next stops on her bucket list. Even amidst the backlash, fans are eagerly awaiting the pop star to land on their shores:

"That's nothing comparing to how she will be recept here in Rio next week... This gonna be HUGE asf..", predicted one fan
"That's weird. bradley cooper or bruno mars must have been in the car with her? was ariana driving? i don't understand.. ", joked another
"Smh this is why she doesn’t greet fans anymore… no one knows how to act right", lamented another fan

Yet another fan came up with a GIF that depicted the panicked scenes while Gaga was sitting inside her car:

Lady Gaga returned to Mexico after 13 years on 26 April 2025 with her first show, and it's fair to say that she made her presence felt. While she was greeted with screaming fans outside her hotel, the massive turnout at the venues shows that the overall sentiment amongst the fans remains one of anticipation.

Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball Tour is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated musical events of 2025, and the rapid sell-out of tickets and the addition of new dates reflect this demand. We can expect similar scenes to break out when she visits Brazil and Singapore next.
