As of today, Billie Eilish’s four major projects, including her debut EP, Don't Smile At Me, When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go, Happier Than Ever, and Hit Me Hard And Soft have all crossed 6 billion streams on Spotify. Each album represents a special meaning for Billie Eilish, but for her third studio album, her inspiration was in the past.

In a 2024 interview with the Rolling Stone, Billie Eilish spoke about her inspiration for Me Hard And Soft and revealed,

“I feel like this album is me."

Her brother Finneas also talked about the process that helped them develop the album. He noted,

“In some ways, growing on [Hit Me Hard and Soft] meant revisiting a lot of things."

He added,

“I feel like this album has some real ghosts in it, and I say that with love. There’s ideas on this album that are five years old, and there’s a past to it, which I really like."

At just 23, Billie Eilish has paved a path for herself in the music industry. In 2024, the singer surpassed Drake to take the number one position on Spotify's most listened-to artists. The singer is currently on tour in support of her third album which is scheduled to wrap up later this year.
