Fans have been in a frenzy since Addison Rae teased an announcement of her debut studio album at Coachella. On April 13, 2025, Rae joined Venezuelan artist Arca on her set to perform a remix version of the former’s hit song Aquamarine.

After the performance, Rae playfully revealed the release date of her debut album on her pink underwear, which read “June 6.” Following her stunt at Coachella, word on the streets is that Addison Rae will be making an official announcement as regards her debut album on April 23, 2025.

@PopCrave shared a post on X on April 22 with the caption:

Addison Rae addresses criticism of her music in new cover story

In a new cover story for Elle Magazine, the 24-year-old singer addressed claims that her musical career is “heavily curated.” Rae, who grew popular from the video-sharing platform TikTok, noted that “it wasn’t her job to persuade anybody how to feel about me or if they think I’m cool or not.”

The pop singer explained that she understood why people would think she wasn’t really a singer and that she didn’t share the musical aspect of her career journey because she was afraid of what people would say in the beginning.

With her album on the way, a Coachella performance, and a number of tracks already released, the Diet Pepsi hitmaker stated that as long as she was making people happy and inspired, she wouldn’t be deterred by the criticism:

"As long as every day I feel like I’m putting out things I’m proud of and inspiring people, then I have no complaints...I’m succeeding at what I want to do,"

She revealed that she had always explored her musical interests, even as a child:

"First of all, no one ever even knew who I was before I was a freshman in college, so it’s like, 'How would you even know what my interests were before?’ I grew up dancing; I’ve always loved to sing,” she said.

Rae released Headphones On, the latest single from her upcoming debut album on April 18, 2025. The accompanying music video, directed by Mitch Ryan, was released on the same day.
